Belinda is an experienced midwife who has recently joined Drs Marren, Campbell & Mackie. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having specialised in the provision of health care for women over 18 years.  Belinda believes women and their families will benefit from a service that provides collaborative and holistic health care. Fertility, conception, pregnancy, birth and parenthood can be challenging for many women and their families and so it is a time where ongoing support and encouragement is often needed. Belinda believes women want access to the best evidence based information available, so that they can make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Belinda graduated as a midwife in Rockhampton, Queensland. Her training in Central Queensland highlighted the importance of antenatal care and there began her love of midwifery. In 1996, she moved to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to take up a role in the antenatal & gynaecology clinics. Her role was to help establish an outreach service to women who were mostly from non -English speaking backgrounds. Providing these women a model of continuity of care and ongoing education really empowered them to be active in all aspects of their pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Belinda’s experience in this role as well as the knowledge acquired whilst working in a busy Outpatients Department, together with her strong communication abilities led to her appointment as Nurse Unit Manager. During this time she also gained qualifications in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Child and Family Health, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing Management, and Lactation. After 7 years as Nurse Unit Manager, Belinda moved out of the public health system to work in the private sector.

Belinda continues to attend Women’s Health conferences and workshops to keep up to date with the latest health practices and research findings.

Belinda is very excited about joining Anthony, Neil and Adam in a progressive practice that offers women not only comprehensive gynaecology management but also a continuum of care (fertility, pregnancy & birth through to the postnatal period) in conjunction with an established supportive network of specialists.
