Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgeon

Neil practices Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the aim of getting the best possible outcome for his patients. He understands that this may be different for each patient coming to see him and that the needs of patients vary immensely. Neil understands that only with clear, up-to-date, evidence based advice are his patients then able to choose the correct path ahead in the treatment of their gynaecological problems or in planning their unique birth experience.

Neil trained in the UK gaining his medical degree in Leicester. With the gynaecological experience gained in his first year as a doctor he then went on to complete three further years of training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK before emigrating to Australia in 2001. Neil completed his basic Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney before completing a further two year fellowship in advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery first at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick.

After completion of this comprehensive training and being awarded the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) travelling fellowship for that year, Neil travelled to a remote part of Ethiopia for three months to care for women usually unable to access even the most basic Obstetrics and Gynaecological care.

Having had such extensive training and experience, Neil is able to offer his patients the highest standard of care in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Neil’s main Gynaecological interests are the investigation and often complex surgical treatment of endometriosis and in the investigation of women with abnormal uterine bleeding. Neil currently runs the Abnormal uterine bleeding clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and performs significant numbers of both laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures for these problems.

Neil jointly runs two of the high risk obstetrics clinics at Royal Prince Alfred hospital which care for those patients with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy and patients who have had previous Caesarean deliveries and other surgery.

Despite Neil’s experience and skill he realises that by working as a team you can hope to look after patients with complex issues and offer them the highest quality of care both in terms of information and surgery.

Neil has a significant interest in teaching and research in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals.

Neil is a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He practices Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mater Hospital, North Sydney, and North Shore Private Hospital, St Leonards. Neil consults at suite 3.03 / 205 Pacific Highway St Leonards.
